POWERMATE3

6.5 Active 2-way stereo configuration

This example uses the internal power amplifier of the PowerMate to drive the HI/MID cabinets. The full-range signal is fed via MASTER A OUT to an active crossover, e. g. the DYNACORD DSP 260. The LO signal outputs of the crossover are connected to an external power amplifier, driving the woofer cabinets. The signal of the crossover’s HI/MID-signal out- puts is fed back to the PowerMate’s internal power amplifier via POWER AMP INPUTS. Compared to the passive config- uration, the overall sound gains transparency and higher sound pressure levels are possible, since the HI/MID cabinets do not have to deal with the low frequency signals.
