13. Routine maintenance and fault finding
13.1 Cleaning the instrument
You can use a cloth or sponge and water clean the outside of the instrument. Do not use caustic cleaning
agents or abrasive materials.
13.2 Fault finding
Although the instrument is designed to be extremely reliable it is possible that faults may arise at some time or
another. The fault-finding charts show the most likely faults and explain how to trace their causes and put them
right. If you cannot cure a fault yourself, contact your supplier or the manufacturers for help.
Note:
Use the “Health Check” facility on the 795x to monitor a variety of measurement parameters,
including time period inputs, analogue inputs and status inputs and outputs. This can be
used as a diagnostic aid if the system seems to be faulty.
