To make DMA tr ansfer availab le, see below.
1. Double-click the My Computer icon, double-click the Printer
icon, right-click EPSON Stylus Photo EX, and select
Property. The printer driver window appears.
2. Click the Utility tab and click the Speed & Progres s button
on the Utility menu. The Speed & Progress dialog box
appears.
3. If a message appears on the Speed & Progress dialog box,
compare it with the table below.
Message Action
High Speed (DMA) Transfer
enabled. DMA transfer is already enabled. Click
OK to close the dialog box.
For higher data transfer rates,
use DMA Transfer. G o to step 4.
<No message> Your system cannot use DMA transfer.
However if you change the parallel
port setting to ECP or Enhanced using
your computer’s BIOS Setup program,
you may be able to use DMA transfer.
Consult your computer’s manual or
computer maker for instructions.
Note:
Before you run the BIOS Setup program,
uninstall the printer software. After running
the Setup program, reinstall the printer
software.
4. Double-click the My Computer icon and double-click
Control Panel.
5. Double-click the System icon and click the Device Manager
tab.
6. Double-click the Ports (COM & LPT) icon and double-click
LPT1. If you have connected your printer to a port other
than LPT1, dou ble-click the appropriate po rt icon.
