■Digital Zoom

1 Enable digital zoom.

Select ON for the DDIGITAL ZOOM op- tion in the setup menu (pg. 104).

2Choose a subject.

Frame the subject in the center of the dis- play.

3Zoom to the digital zoom position.

4Press the selector down (c).

The camera will zoom to the maximum opti- cal zoom position with the area that will be recorded using digital zoom indicated by a frame at the center of the display.

5Frame the picture.

Use the zoom control to choose the area that will be included in the final photograph.

6Focus and shoot.

The framed area will be enlarged to create a full-sized picture.

3Caution

Pictures taken using zoom framing are lower quality than pictures taken using normal zoom.
