8.1 Error Messages and Remedies

If an error occurs in fi-5000N, a temporary error or device alarm message will appear on the Message Display.

Temporary errors are errors that can be resolved by the user, while device alarms are malfunctions errors that require recovery work by support engineers.

If the same message still appears after following the contents listed below, contact the store where you purchased the scanner or an authorized FUJITSU scanner service provider.

Sensor surface not clean. Please

The fingerprint sensor surface is dirty.

wipe sensor, and restart device.

Turn off the power, wipe the surface lightly with a dry lint-

 

free cloth.

 

 

Scanner is disconnected

Check the following:

 

Is the scanner turned on?

 

Is the USB cable connected to the scanner?

 

Is the USB cable damaged?

 

 

Unsupported device is

Check that the connected scanner is any one of the fi

connected

series.

The network cable is

Check the following:

disconnected

Is the network cable (LAN) connected to the network?

 

Is the network cable (LAN) connected to this device?

 

Is the network cable (LAN) connected to a hub (router,

 

etc.)?

 

Is the hub turned on?

 

Is the network cable (LAN) damaged?

 

Is the correct network cable being used?

 

(Correct: straight cable; incorrect: cross cable)

 

 

The IP address is already in use

It is possible that the IP address is already in use by

by another device
