8.3 Error messagesin the ConfigurationWizard
Thefollowing errormessage can occur after activating the configurationtask:
Configurationtask has not been startedon Central ManagementSta-
tion. Please, checkif ServerView Download Service is stoppedand
restartthe service. Form oredetails, check system eventlog mes-
sageswith source 'ServerViewUpdate Manager'. It may be that Server-
View Download Servicehas no credentials for accessingdatabase
ServerViewDB.

Troubleshootingon Windows CMS:

1. Lookfor entries in the event viewer:
Windows logs > Application with source ServerViewU pdateMan-
agerand MSSQL$SQLSERVERVIEW
2. If thereare entries containingmessages like
Login failed foruser '…….'. [CLIENT: <l ocalm achine>]
or
Application=DownloadService
Function=resetRepositoryState
resetRepositoryState:am_openDB failed, errMsg=[Microsoft][SQL
NativeC lient][SQLServer]Login failed foruser '……..'.
thenthe ServerView DownloadService has no credentials for access-
ingthe databaseS erverViewDB.
Inthis case:
lStopthe ServerView Download Service.
lModifythe credentials for logonuser for the ServerView Download
Serviceas described in section Update ManagementLogon in
"Prerequisiteson the CentralManagementS tation(CMS)" onpage
16.
