3.2 Updatevia TFTP server
Thisprocedureis usedto update PRIMERGY sys tem componentswhich
cannotbe updatedusing the updatet ools availableunderW indows, Linux or
DOSeither at all or only with great effort, or to update autonomoushardware
systems onw hichnone of thesethree operatingsystems runs. Theses ys-
temcomponents and hardwaresystems are updatedvia a ServerView
UpdateAgent of the type TFTP Server.
Thesyst emc omponentsand hardwaresystems must beable to fetch an
imagefrom a TFTP server andto update themselves. They must have inter-
facesv ia which
ltheconfigurationdata can be read (e.g.v ersion,name, MAC address,
etc.).
ltherequiredparameters(IP address,path nameand image nameon the
TFTPserver) can be set.
ltheupdate procedurecan bes tarted.
Thefollowing control interfaceis currentlyimplementedfor this purposein
theUpdate Manager:

SNMP (reading)and HTTP (writing)

forupdating a hardwaresystem, e.g. the managementblade of the blade
serversBX600 and BX900
Inthe case of BX600MMB S2 there may be two alternateman-
agementbladesin operation (masterand slave) which have
justone joint update IP address for updatingpurposes.I n this
casewhen an updateproceduret akes placeboth management
bladesare always updatedvia this updateIP address.
