Before a Clean Cycle

Remove any broiler pan,broiler grid, probe, all

 

cookware and any aluminum foil from the oven.

NOTE:

If your oven is equippedwith shiny, silver-colored ovenracks, remove them before you begin the self-clean cycle.

The shiny, silver-colored oven racks

(on some models) can beself-cleaned, but they will darken,lose their luster and become hard to slide.

If your oven is equippedwith gray porcelain-coated ovenracks,they may be left in the ovenduring theself-clean cycle.

Soil on the frontframeof the range and outside the gasket on the door will need to be cleaned by hand.Clean theseareas with hot water, soap-filled steel-woolpads or cleansers such as Soft Scrub®. Rinse well with clean waterand dry.

Do not clean the gasket.The fiberglass material of the oven doorgasket cannotwithstand abrasion. Itis essential forthe gasketto remain intact. Ifyou notice it becoming worn or frayed, replace it.

Make surethe ovenlight bulb coveris in place andthe oven lightis off.

IMPORTANT: The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumesgiven off during the self-cleaning cycle of any range. Move birds toanother wel-ventilatedroom.

Double Oven and Canadian Models Only:

The surface units areautomatically disabled during the self-clean cycle. Make sure that all surface unitcontrols are turnedoff at alltimes during the self-clean cycle. Anysurface unitthat is set to an “on”positionwhilethe self-clean cycle is operating will automaticallycome on after the self-cleancycle is finished,and could result in an “on”unattendedsurface unit.Wait until the self-clean cycle is finishedto setand use the surface units.

How to Set the Oven for Cleaning

The oven doorsmust beclosed and al controls set correctly for thecycleto workproperly.

Touch the SELF CLEAN pad.

A3-hourself-cleantime is recommended for use when cleaningsmall, contained spills. A self-cleantime of 5 hoursis recommended for a dirtier oven.

If a time otherthan 5hours or 3 hours is needed, use the number pads andenter the desired clean time.

You can changethe cleantime to any time between 3 hours and 5 hours,depending on how dirty your oven is.

Touch the START pad.

The upperand lowerovendoors lock automatically.The cooktop elements are also lockedout duringself-clean.The displaywill show the clean time remaining.It will not be possible to open the oven doors or use the cooktop until the temperature drops below the lock temperature and LOCKED/DOORgoes off in the control display.

When LOCKED/DOOR goes off, you will be able toopen the doors.

The word LOCKED/DOOR will flash and the worddoor will display if youset theclean cycleand forgetto close the oven doors.

To stop a clean cycle, touch the CLEAR/OFF pad. When LOCKED/DOORgoes off, indicating the ovens have cooledbelow the locking temperature, you will beable toopen the doors.

Double Ovens:

You canset a clean cycle inboth ovens at the same time; however, heyt willnot self-cleanat the same time. The lastoven set will automatically delay its startuntilthe end of the first oven’scleancycle.

When anoven isset to self-clean, both oven doors will lockand thecooktop controls will lock out. The ovens andcooktop cannotbe used when an ovenis setto self-clean.
