Do you have other devices running on your computer?
The HP LaserJet 1100A Printer•Copier•Scanner may not share a parallel port. If you have a sound card, external hard drive, or network switchbox connected to the same parallel port as the
HP LaserJet 1100A, the other devices may be interfering. You must disconnect the other devices to connect and use the
HP LaserJet 1100A or you must use two parallel ports on the computer. You may need to add another parallel interface card. An ECP parallel interface card is strongly recommended. Please see the documentation that came with your PC for information on installing an additional parallel interface card or resolving device conflicts.
