Clearing scanner jams

Occasionally, paper becomes jammed during a scan or copy job. Some of the causes include the following:

The paper input trays are loaded improperly. See “Loading Copier/Scanner originals.”

The original is too small or large to be correctly fed through the scanner. See “Supported paper sizes and types (media).”

The original exceeds the maximum page length. See “Supported paper sizes and types (media).”

Media that does not meet HP specifications is used. See “Printer paper specifications.”

An error message will appear on your PC screen when a jam occurs.
