The Printer Not Found screen appears during installation

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is preventing the HP All-in-One from accessing your computer.

Try temporarily disabling the VPN before proceeding with the installation.

Note The HP All-in-One functionality will be limited during VPN sessions.

The software failed to find the HP All-in-One.

Use the installation software to specify the HP All-in-One by its IP address as follows:

On the Printer Not Found screen, click Next, and then follow the onscreen directions to search for the IP address of the HP All-in-One.

If you need to determine the IP address of the HP All-in-One, see View and print network settings.

The HP All-in-One is assigned an AutoIP address instead of DHCP. This indicates that the HP All-in-One is not connected properly to the network.

Check the following:

Make sure all cables are connected properly and securely.

If the cables are connected properly, your access point, router, or home gateway might not be sending an address. If this is the case, you might need to reset the device.

Make sure your HP All-in-One is on the correct network.

The HP All-in-One is on the wrong subnet or gateway.

Print a network configuration page, and verify that the router and HP All-in-One are on the same subnet and gateway. For more information, see View and print network settings.

The HP All-in-One is not turned on.

Turn on the HP All-in-One.

(Wireless) You do not have an active network connection. Make sure that you have an active network connection.

To check your network connection

1.Check the radio on indicator light on the front of your HP All-in-One to see whether the radio is on.

2.If the wireless radio is on, check the color graphics display to see if the wireless network icon is active and has a strong signal. A blue icon indicates an active wireless network. Three or four signal bars indicates a strong signal. For more information, see Color graphics display icons.

If the wireless network icon is not active, make sure all cable connections are secure. This includes connections from your cable or DSL modem, gateway, or router.

3.If the indicator light is off, do the following:

a.Press Setup.

b.Press until Network is highlighted, then press OK.
