7.Connect the opposite end of the data cable to one of the light blue SATA connectors on the system board.

NOTE: Refer to System board connections on page 57 for an illustration of the system board drive connectors.

8.Replace the front bezel.

NOTE: An optional bezel trim piece that surrounds the front of the 5.25-inch drive is available from HP. Install the bezel trim piece in the front bezel before replacing the front bezel.

Removing a 3.5-inch device

CAUTION: All removable media should be taken out of a drive before removing the drive from the computer.

1.Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 44)

2.Remove the access panel (Access panel on page 45)

3.Remove the front bezel (Front bezel on page 47)

4.Disconnect the drive cables from the rear of the drive, or, if you are removing a media card reader, disconnect the USB cable from the system board as indicated in the following illustration.
