HP TouchSmart RSS Reader
HP TouchSmart includes an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feeds Reader that enables you to subscribe to RSS feeds from Web sites you choose.
RSS feeds contain frequently updated content that is published by a news or blog Web site. Some RSS feeds distribute other types of digital content, including pictures, audio files, videos, or updates that you can view later.
Setting up RSS feeds
To subscribe to an RSS feed in Internet Explorer:
1Tap the Windows Vista start button , and then tap Internet Explorer.
2Tap the Feeds button to discover feeds on the Web page.
3Tap a feed.
4Tap the Subscribe to this Feed button, and then tap Subscribe to this Feed.
5Type a name for the feed, and then select the folder where you want to create the feed.
6Tap Subscribe.
7Open HP TouchSmart, and tap the RSS feeds tile to view your RSS feeds.
8Tap the feed title to display it in the RSS reader window. If you tap the arrow button on the feed window, it opens in Internet Explorer outside of HP TouchSmart. When you close the feed, the HP TouchSmart RSS feed window opens.
Importing a list of RSS feeds
To import a list of RSS feeds from another program into Internet Explorer:
1Tap the Windows Vista start button , and then tap Internet Explorer.
2Tap the Add to Favorites button, and then tap Import and Export.
3In the Import/Export Wizard, tap Next.
4Tap Import Feeds, and then tap Next.
5By default, Internet Explorer imports from a file called Feeds.opml in your Documents folder, but you can tell it to import feeds that are saved under another name. Tap Browse, and select a file, or type a location and file name to import, or tap Next to accept the default.
6Select the folder where you want to place the imported feeds, and then tap Next.
7Tap Finish.
