Setting Up My PC

Follow the steps in the setup poster to set up the computer. Connect the keyboard, mouse, speaker system, and remote sensor to the connections on the back of the PC. Match the colors.

Your connector locations and system components may vary.

The following pages identify the location of components and connectors on your PC and provide some setup alternatives.

Checklist

The following items are not provided with your PC. Be sure you have them on hand if you need them for your setup:

■	Monitor (required)	■ S-video cable(s), to connect your TV if it
	TV	requires S-video
■		■ Audio Y-cable, to connect to a stereo system
■ Internet Service Provider (ISP), selected during
		■ FM radio antenna cable
	initial setup (required for Media Center
	features, such as the Program Guide)
■	Coaxial cable splitter

PC Installation checklist

■Connect the keyboard, mouse, and remote sensor.

■Connect the monitor (not included) and the optional TV (not included).

■Connect the speakers.

■Connect the TV antenna, cable, or satellite signal source.

■Connect the FM radio antenna cable.

■Connect the camera docking station (not included) and digital camera (not included).

■Connect the modem to the telephone line and connect a network cable (not provided) if one is needed.

■Turn on the monitor, the PC, and then turn on the speaker system.

■Follow the onscreen instructions, including selecting an ISP using Easy Internet Sign-up.

■Set up the Media Center. See “Using Media Center Help” on page 45.

■Enable the TV Out Image (optional); refer to “Enabling TV Out Image for nVidia Graphics Card” and “Enabling TV Out Image for ATI Graphics Card” on page 26.

■After you’ve completed the initial startup and registration, connect optional devices, such as a printer or scanner, one at a time.
