3 Set up Television Signal

This step makes sure your computer receives the correct TV signal and the correct Program Guide information. If you have a set-top box, the setup wizard programs your remote control to work with your set-top box so that you can view premium channels. Make sure the TV signal source is properly connected to your PC and the correct TV provider is selected.

aSelect your TV service.

bSelect if you have a set-top box. Sometimes a set-top box receives a TV signal. If you have a set-top box, the Media Center remote control needs to work with it.

cPrepare for set-top box setup. Make sure:

Your set-top box is turned on.

Your TV signal is connected to your set-top box.

Your set-top box is connected to your computer.

Your remote sensor control cable is connected properly.

dChoose a working TV signal to use with Media Center.

eSelect how you change channels.

fSelect your set-top box brand.

gSelect remote control code.

hTest channel changing.

iSet IR Signal Speed.

jYour Guide is automatically downloaded when you complete all onscreen instructions.

To set this up later, select Settings from the Media Center Start menu, select TV, and then select Set up TV signal.
