Component replacement procedures

NOTE: Details about your computer, including model, serial number, product key, and length of warranty, are on the service tag at the bottom of your computer. See Service tag and PCID label on page 21 for details.

This chapter provides removal and replacement procedures for Authorized Service Provider only parts.

There are as many as 92 screws that must be removed, replaced, or loosened when servicing Authorized Service Provider only parts. Make special note of each screw size and location during removal and replacement.

Display bezel

You can remove the display bezel, webcam, and display panel without removing the entire display from the computer on models with standard displays (not DreamColor or touchscreen displays).

Before removing the display bezel, follow these steps:

1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
