Troubleshooting Print Server Problems

This chapter gives advice for identifying problems with your HyperNet Fastprint network print server.

Using the EtherP Admin Device Diagnostics Window

Choosing Device Diagnostics... from the EtherP Admin Management menu displays the Device Diagnostics window. From the Device Diagnostics window you can display many of the print server’s settings and status items, allowing you to identify many types of print server problems.

The Configuration tab displays the print server’s configuration settings, divided into different categories in a tree structure. You can expand branches of the tree to display entries beneath the branch.

The Status tab shows the status of the print server’s various subsystems.

The Statistics tab shows collected statistics, also divided into various categories. (Many of these categories correspond to standard SNMP management information base categories.)
