38 EN TIMER RECORDING
You can programme this unit to timer record as many as
8 programmes up to 30 days in advance. To perform normal timer
programming without using EPG, use the following procedure to
set your unit to timer record the programme.
1Load a recordable disc.
For details, refer to APlacing A DiscB (Apg. 9).
2Press PROG to display
the APROGRAMME
CHECKB screen.
When 8 timer
programmes appear on
the TV screen, you need
to cancel some of the
reserved programmes.
3Press selection keys
repeatedly to select
ANEW TIMER
PROGRAMMEB, then
press ENTER.
4Press selection keys to
set the desired date
(ADATEB), then press E.
5Press selection keys to
set the desired start
time (ASTARTB), then press E.
Each press of FG increases/decreases the start time in
1 minute interval.
To increase/decrease the start time in 30 minutes interval,
press and hold FG.
6Press selection keys to set the desired stop time (ASTOPB),
then press E.
Each press of FG increases/decreases the stop time in
1 minute interval.
To increase/decrease the stop time in 30 minutes interval, press
and hold FG.
7Press selection keys to set the desired channel (ATV PROGB),
then press E.
8Set the other recording options as required.
9Press ENTER to access the Programme Confirmation screen.
10 Press ENTER to complete the timer programming.
To programme another timer, repeat steps 2-10.
11 Press TIMERj to engage the unit’s timer mode.
The unit turns off automatically and j appears on the front
display panel.
To disengage the timer mode, press TIMERj again.
NOTES:
When two successive programmes are recorded with the
AManual Timer ProgrammingB function, the ending of the first
programme or the beginning of the second programme may not
be recorded.
If the copy limited programme is received during timer recording,
the unit enters Record Pause mode. Recording starts again if it is
switched to a recordable broadcast during the time you
programmed.

Manual Timer Programming

ATTENTION:
If timer programming cannot be set or cancelled, wait for about
40 seconds and then try again.
Turn on the unit.
Turn on the TV and select an input mode such as EXT1.
Make sure that the unit’s built-in clock is set properly.
Slide the TV/DVD switch to DVD.

Satellite Receiver Users
To record a satellite broadcast using Manual Timer
Programming:
APerform Manual Timer Programming.
In step 7, press AUX to set ATV PROGB to ASATB. Then press
FG to enter the channel position for the satellite broadcast.
BSet the satellite receiver to the appropriate channel for
recording.
Leave the satellite receiver’s power on.
