BASIC OPERATIONS ON DVD DECK

Selecting The Desired Channel

Press PR +/– or the number keys to select the channel you wish
to watch.
When using the number keys, enter the PR number directly.
PR 6N Press 6.
PR 6 1N Press 6 and 1 in sequence.
PR122N Press 1, 2 then 2 in sequence.
When using PR +/–, press +/– repeatedly to select the desired
channel.
If AAUTO SEARCHB (Apg. 17) is performed and channels are
being registered, only those registered channels are selected.
The information bar is displayed when changing the channels
using PR +/–.

Checking Channel Information and Clock Time

Press INFO when the
channel is being selected.
The information bar
appears.
To clear the information bar, press INFO again.
While the information bar is displayed, the colour buttons on the
remote control does not function as colour buttons with scrolling
function and so on.

Displaying The Subtitles

Press SUBTITLE when watching a programme.
If the programme contains subtitles, the subtitles will be displayed
on the TV screen.
When the unit is turned on, the subtitles set in ARECORDING
SUBTITLEB (Apg. 20) is displayed.
When SUBTITLE on the remote control is pressed, a window
(SUB-GUI) with the current selected setting is superimposed on
the TV screen for 5 seconds.
While SUB-GUI is displayed, you can change the setting using
DE. (Selectable settings: OFF/ENG.(ENGLISH)/
GAEL.(GAELIC)/WELSH)
Press ENTER to confirm the changes after changing.
The SUBTITLE button is disabled when making changes.
If the colour buttons or TEXT is pressed while the subtitles are
displayed, the subtitle display is switched off and SUB-GUI
displays AOFFB for 5 seconds.
During recording, the subtitles set in ARECORDING SUBTITLEB
(Apg. 20) being displayed will be recorded. The subtitles of the
recorded programme will be the same as that displayed during
recording.
If recording starts while the subtitles are displayed, the subtitles
will also be recorded. If you do not want subtitles on the recorded
image, perform recording after clearing the subtitles.
The SUBTITLE button functions only after the unit has been
turned on and a TV programme is displayed on the TV screen.
However, when SET UP is pressed to access the Main Menu, the
subtitles will not be displayed.

Viewing Teletext Broadcast

1Press TEXT when the channel is being selected.
The teletext menu screen appears.
2Following the instructions on the screen, select the item with
FGD E, then press ENTER.
The text information of
the selected item (for
example, news) is
displayed.
The subtitles
disappear if TEXT is
pressed while the
subtitles are displayed.
The colour buttons
can also be used to
select the items.
When recording is
performed while viewing the teletext, only the images of the
programme are recorded. The text section will not appear. In
this case, if the subtitle display is set to other than off in
ARECORDING SUBTITLEB (Apg. 20), some programmes will
display the subtitles in place of the teletext menu. The subtitles
displayed will be recorded. If you do not want subtitles on the
recorded image, perform recording after clearing the subtitles.

Adjusting The Volume

Press TV 8+/– to adjust accordingly.
+: To increase the volume.
–: To turn down the volume.

Basic Operation (TV)

ATTENTION:
It is not possible to watch pay-TV with this unit.
While watching Digital terrestrial broadcast (DVB-T),
ON SCREEN and DISPLAY buttons function as colour
buttons. To operate these buttons as ON SCREEN and
DISPLAY buttons, press INFO to display the information bar.

ATTENTION:
The DISPLAY button and ON SCREEN button function of the
respective red and green button on the remote control are given
