Notes:

On this submenu, you can adjust the speaker channel output levels. While outputting the test tone, select a speaker channel and adjust its output level.

Once adjustment is done on this submenu, it is stored for each source when you change the source or when you turn off the receiver.

• If “NO” or “NONE” is selected for a speaker on the SPEAKER

SETTING submenu (page 36), test tone does not come out of

the speaker.

7Adjusting the speaker channel output levels

Select and adjust the following speakers:

FRONT L LEVEL

: Select this to adjust the left front

 

speaker output level within the range

 

of –20 dBto +10 dB, and – – – dB

 

(no sound).

 

 

FRONT R LEVEL

: Select this to adjust the right front

The speaker level adjustments except the left/right front level and subwoofer level will be affected and be changed according to the Surround/DSP mode setting.

You can show this submenu simply by pressing TEST button on the remote control. Test tone comes out of the activated speakers in sequence. (See page 49.)

7Adjustment procedure on this submenu

Adjustment is also possible without outputting the test tone. In this case, you can skip steps 1, 2 and 6 below.

1Press Þ or %(DOWN or UP) to select “TEST TONE.”

2Press # or @(RIGHT or LEFT) to output the test tone. (See “Outputting the test tone” below.)

3Press Þ or %(DOWN or UP) to select a speaker you want to adjust.

4Press # or @(RIGHT or LEFT) to adjust the speaker output level.

5Repeat step 3 and 4 to adjust the other speaker output levels.

6After adjustment is finished, stop the test tone.

1 Press % or Þ(UP or DOWN) to select “TEST TONE.” 2 Press # or @(RIGHT or LEFT) to select “OFF.”

7Outputting the test tone

CAUTION:

Test tone is automatically fixed to 0 dB, but this level will be louder than you would expect.

Select one of the following.

Test tone will be heard about three seconds after you select “AUTO” or “MANUAL.”

AUTO : When this is selected, the test tone comes out of all the activated speakers in sequence (for 2 seconds each). The test tone comes out of the activated speakers in the following sequence:

Left front speaker = Center speaker = Right front speaker

=Right surround speaker = Right surround back speaker

=Left surround back speaker = Left surround speaker

=Subwoofer = (Back to the beginning)

MANUAL : When this is selected, the test tone comes out of only the speaker you select. (To select the speaker, see the right column.)

Note:
