One-Touch DVD Play

One-Touch DVD Play

Simply by starting playback on the DVD player, you can enjoy the DVD playback without setting other switches manually.

When you press PLAY on the remote control supplied for this receiver for operating the DVD player, the receiver automatically turns on and changes the main room source or sub-room source, depending on the MAIN ROOM/SUB ROOM (LEARN/ TRANSMIT) selector setting on the remote control, to the appropriate input—“DVD” (“DVD DIGITAL”) or “DVD MULTI”

as the main room source, and “DVD” as the sub-room source.

For main room operations: The main room TV automatically turns on and changes the input mode to the appropriate position so that you can view the playback picture.

When the DVD player is connected through the analog input jacks on this receiver (and analog input is selected), the receiver automatically turns on and changes the source to “DVD” or “DVD MULTI.”

If the receiver is already turned on with the SUB ROOM ON/ OFF lamp on the unit lit, and sub-room source name is shown on the display, the receiver changes the sub-room source to “DVD.” In this case, the sub-room TV will not turn on.

When the DVD player is connected through the digital input terminal on this receiver (and digital input is selected), the receiver automatically turns on and changes the main room source to “DVD DIGITAL.”

If the receiver is already turned on with the SUB ROOM ON/ OFF lamp on the unit lit, and sub-room source name is shown on the display, the receiver changes the sub-room source to “DVD.” (If no analog connection is made for the DVD player, no sound comes out of the sub-room front speakers).

Automatic Selection of TV’s Input Mode (Only for the Main Room Operations)

• When you select “TV” or “TV DIGITAL” as the main room source to play on the receiver, the main room TV automatically changes the input mode to the TV tuner so that you can watch the main room TV.

When you select “DVD” (“DVD DIGITAL”), “DVD MULTI,” “VCR 1,” “VCR 2, ” “VIDEO” or “DBS” (“DBS DIGITAL”) as

the main room source to play on the receiver, the main room TV automatically changes the input mode to the appropriate position (either Video Input 1 or Video Input 2) so that you can view the playback picture.

Notes:

When you select “TV” or “TV DIGITAL” as the source on the receiver, you cannot see the menu on the TV screen since the AV COMPU LINK remote control system automatically changes the TV’s input mode to the TV tuner.

If you do not mind stopping listening to the TV sounds, you can then show the on-screen displays after changing the TV’s input mode to the appropriate position (either Video Input 1 or Video Input 2) the receiver is connected to.

This function does not work when you connect this receiver and the TV with the AV COMPU LINK using the TV’s AV COMPU LINK EX terminal. In this case, reconnect the TV referring to case 1 or case 2 on page 62.
