Camera Care

Cleaning

CAUTION:

Remove the lens from the camera before cleaning.

1.Turn off the camera.

2.Disconnect the camera from the AC adapter and from the computer.

3.Using a clean, damp cloth, clean only the outside of the camera body, the Top Status LCD, the Back Status LCD, and the Image LCD.

NOTE: Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners on the outside of the camera.

4.Clean the viewfinder eyepiece with a soft, clean cloth. Do not use alcohol.

5.To remove dust from the mirror or the focusing screen, gently blow the dust away using a commercially available bulb-type blower. Avoid directly touching any of these surfaces.

6.Clean the lens surface with a blower brush. To remove dirt and smudges, remove the lens from the camera, then use a soft, clean cotton cloth or lens tissue moistened with lens cleaner. Wipe in a circular motion from center to outer edge, taking care not to leave traces and not to touch the other lens parts.

NOTE: Do not lubricate the camera, lens, or lens contacts.
