Camera Care

Storing

Carefully check the camera’s operation after lengthy storage, when the camera has not been used for a long time, or before an important trip or shooting assignment.

When storing your camera, wrap it in a clean, soft cloth and place it in a well-ventilated, cool, dry, dust-free place.

Keep the camera out of direct sunlight and away from hot spots such as the trunk or rear window shelf of a car.

Avoid places where chemical agents such as moth balls are used.

To prevent corrosion, avoid storing the camera in a laboratory or other location where chemicals are used.

Do not store the camera in a drawer or other non-ventilated place.

Remove the battery if you do not expect to use the camera for several days.

Take the camera out and release the shutter occasionally to assure camera function.

In a humid environment, store the camera inside a vinyl bag with a desiccant to keep out dust, moisture and salt.

IMPORTANT: A minute amount of battery power is used even when the camera is turned off. This will affect the camera’s shooting capacity after several days of storage.
