Color Mode

The color mode controls whether a still image is color or black and white. This must be set before the image is recorded. The color mode is set in section 3 of the recording mode menu (p. 43) or in section 2 of the movie/audio recording menu (p. 66). The live image on the monitors will reflect the selected color mode. The color option uses no monitor indicator when active. The color mode has no effect on image file size.

The black & white mode produces neutral monochrome images. Sepia creates warm-tone monochrome images.

Voice memo

Voice memo allows an audio track up to fifteen second to be recorded with a still image. The function is activated in section 3 of the recording-mode menu (p. 43). When the function is active, the microphone indicator is displayed on the LCD monitor. The voice memo must be set before taking a picture. It will remain in effect until reset. When the LCD monitor is turned off (p. 34), it will automatically activate for the voice-memo period.

After an image is captured, a screen will appear indicating the audio recording has started. A bar graph (1) will display the amount of recording time remaining.
