Usingdualdisplays

UsingtheExtenddesktopfunction

YourcomputersupportsafunctionnamedtheExtenddesktop.WiththeExtenddesktopfunction,you
candisplayoutputonboththecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.Y oucanalsodisplaydifferent
desktopimagesoneachmonitor.
YoucanusetheExtenddesktopfunctionwithoutchanginganysettings.Ifthefunctiondoesnotwork,refer
toEnablingtheExtenddesktopfunctiontoenableit.
ConsiderationsforusingtheExtenddesktopfunction
•IfyourcomputerhastheIntel®displayadapter,youcandesignatetheotherdisplayastheprimary
displaybydoingthefollowing:
1.P ressCtrl+Alt+F12.TheIntelCUIwindowopens.
2.SelectExtendedDesktop.
3.Changethesettingtodesignatetheprimarydisplay.
•WhenanapplicationusingtheDirectDrawortheDirect3Displayedinfull-screenmode,itisshown
onlyontheprimarydisplay.
•YoucannotusethedisplayswitchingfunctionwhenyouareintheExtenddesktopmode.

EnablingtheExtenddesktopfunction

ToenabletheExtenddesktopfunction,doasfollows:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector;thenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
2.T urnontheexternalmonitor.
3.P ressFn+F7,thenselectExtend.
Tochangetheresolutionforeachmonitor,doasfollows:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
2.ClicktheMonitor-1icon(fortheprimarydisplay,thecomputerdisplay).
3.Settheresolutionfortheprimarydisplay .
4.ClicktheMonitor-2icon(forthesecondarydisplay,theexternaldisplay).
5.Settheresolutionforthesecondarydisplay.
6.Placetheiconsforthemonitorssothattheytouch.
