To activate stop mode when a disc is playing:
Press the STOP button.

RESUME MODE

Pauses playback at the current playback time (the screen does not
display the still frame). Audio automatically mutes when resume
mode is activated. Later, playback can be reactivated from this
playback time.
Use the front panel and remote control STOP button to activate.
To activate resume mode while a disc is playing:
Press the STOP button once. When you resume play by pressing
the PLAY button, the Resume Play bar shown to the right will open
at the top of the on-screen display to indicate that resume mode is
activated.
If the Resume bar does not appear on the on-screen display,
resume mode might not be available for the loaded disc. The “Play-
back Modes Table” on page 4-10 indicates the playback modes
available for each disc format.
To deactivate resume mode:
Press the PLAY button to reactivate playback at the current
playback time.
Press the STOP button to activate stop mode. When stop mode
is activated, pressing STOP again will deactivate resume mode.
Playback cannot be reactivated at the current playback time.

PAUSE MODE

Pauses playback at the current playback time. Audio automatically
mutes when pause mode is activated.
In some cases, activating pause mode is the same as activating still
frame playback mode. Refer to “STILL FRAME PLAYBACK” on
page 4-16 for more information.
To activate pause mode when a disc is playing:
Press the Pause button.
To deactivate pause mode:
Press the PLAY button to reactivate playback at the current
playback time.
Press the STOP button to activate stop or resume mode.
