RANDOM PLAYBACK MODES

GROUP

Activates playback of the loaded disc in a random order of groups, beginning with the currently playing group.

TRACK

Activates playback of the loaded disc in a random order of tracks, beginning with the currently playing track. When a DVD-A is loaded, random track playback includes tracks in the currently play- ing group. When the currently playing group includes just one track, activating random track playback repeats playback of that track. When another disc format is loaded, random track playback includes all tracks on the loaded disc.

Note:

Random playback is not available for DVD-Vs, DVD-R/RWs, Video CDs and SVCDs that include PBC menus.

To activate random playback:

1.Press the remote control RANDOM button when the disc is in stop mode.

The Random Track bar opens at the top of the on-screen dis- play. (Press the RANDOM button again to toggle to RANDOM OFF.)

If the Random bar does not open, random playback may not be available for the loaded disc. The “Playback Modes Table” on page 4-10 indicates the random playback modes available for each disc format.

2.Press the PLAY button to activate the selected random playback mode.

3.When random playback is in progress:

Press the remote control PREV button to return to the beginning of the currently playing title, chapter, group, or track.

Press the remote control NEXT button to skip to the begin- ning of the next randomly selected chapter, group, or track. For instance, when random chapter playback is activated, pressing the NEXT button skips to the beginning of the next randomly selected chapter.

When playing a DVD-A disc, press the remote control SEARCH button and enter the group number of the track you wish to play using the number buttons. Then press the PLAY button to activate random playback within the desig- nated group.

To deactivate random playback:

Press the STOP button to activate stop or resume mode. Then press the RANDOM button.

REPEAT PLAYBACK

Repeats playback of the currently playing title, chapter, group, track, folder, or program list. The “Playback Modes Table” on page 4-10 indicates the repeat playback modes available for each disc format. Repeat playback is not available for Video CDs and SVCDs that include PBC menus.
