SETUP MENU: PARENTAL SETUP
Opens the Password controls, which can be used to assign a user-
defined password that must be entered before the RT-20 will acti-
vate playback mode when a disc encoded with a user-defined secu-
rity level is loaded. These controls are not available when a disc that
is not encoded with a security level is loaded.
To assign a password:
1. Press the SETUP button.
2. Select Parental Setup, then press the or ENTER button.
3. Use the remote control or ENTER button to select Yes.
When the Password parental control is selected for the first
time, the Enter Password screen shown below opens on the
on-screen display. This screen can be used to assign a user-
defined password.
4. Enter your four-digit password.
5. When the Re-enter password screen appears to confirm the
password, re-enter your password.
Once the numbers are entered, the password is accepted.
To confirm the user-defined password:
When a user-defined password is assigned, that password must be
entered before the RT-20 will activate playback mode when a disc
encoded with a user-defined security level is loaded. The user-
defined password must also be entered before the Level control can
be adjusted.
Note:
If the assigned password is lost or forgotten, factory-default settings
must be restored to delete the password. Then, a new password can be
entered.
