CONFIGURATION

SECTION 3

Field

Description

RTS Threshold

Allows you to modify the RTS threshold, which

is the packet size at which an access point

issues a request to send (RTS). The range is 0

to 2347 bytes.

The default is 2347.

Fragmentation

Allows you to set the size at which packets are

Threshold

fragmented and transmitted a piece at a time

instead of all at once. The setting must be

within the range of 256 to 2346 bytes.

The default is 2346.

Beacon Period

Allows you to set the time units for the beacon

period. A beacon is a packet broadcast by the

access point to keep the network synchronized.

You are able to set the Beacon Period value

from 1 to 65535 in Time Units (TU). The default

is 100.

Since changes to the Beacon Period and

may affect wireless performance, it is best to

use the default settings.

DTIM Period

Allows you to set the Delivery Traffic Indicator

Maps (DTIM) period value from 1 to 255 in

multiples of Beacon Periods. The default is 3.

Since changes to the Beacon Period and

Delivery Traffic Indicator Maps (DTIM) settings

may affect wireless performance, it is best to

use the default settings.
