Installation and Configuration
This chapter explains how to install and configure your 6023E, 6024E,
or6 025E device.

Software Installation

Installyour software before i nstalling your device.
Ify ou are using LabVIEW,LabWindows/CVI, ComponentWorks, or
VirtualBench,install this software before installing the NI-DAQdriver
software.Refer to the software release notes of yoursoftware for
installation instructions.
Ify ou are using NI-DAQ,refer to your NI-DAQ release notes. Find
the installation section for your operating system and follow the
instructions giventhere.

Unpacking

Your device is shipped in an antistatic package to prevent electrostatic
damage to the device.Electrostatic discharge can damage several
components on the device. To avoid suchdamage in handling the device,
take the following precautions:
•Groundyoursel fby using a grounding strap or by holding a grounded
object.
•Touchthe antistatic package to a metal part of your computer chassis
before removingt he devicefrom the package.
•Removethe device from the package and inspect the device for
loose components or any other sign of damage. Notify National
Instrumentsif the device appears damaged in any way. Do not install
adamaged device into your computer.
