i2021 ISDN Teleset

The i2021 Teleset contains feature keys up to key 96. Feature keys above key 16 are automatically assigned to softkeys. However, all keys may be mapped to hardkeys if desired. For further information, refer to the paragraph that explains “key mapping.”

To Use the Inspect feature, press the Inspect Feature key.

You can then either press one of the hardkeys (1-16), or enter a number

on the dial keypad. For example, suppose you wish to inspect key 2. First press the Inspect key, then press key 2. The switch then displays the Call Appearance, or feature, assigned to key 2. Perhaps you wonder what is assigned to key 60? To find out we must remember that keys over 16 are automatically assigned to a softkey. Since key 60 is a softkey, you must enter 60 followed by a # sign, on the keypad. The switch then displays the Call Appearance or feature assigned to key 60.

NOTE: Inspect is a timed feature in the switch. After pressing the Inspect key, you are given about ten seconds to enter the key number that you wish to inspect.

INSPECT OR VIEW?

The i2021 Teleset has a “local inspect” feature built into the Teleset. The local inspect feature is called “View Key”. Refer to the paragraph that explains View for additional information. What is the difference between Inspect and View? View shows the user the Teleset information about a specific key. Inspect displays what the switch has actually assigned to that key.

View

View is a feature that is local to the phone. It will only reflect the current programming of the phone. To ensure accuracy, perform a Parameter download before using View Key.

Key assignments should be checked if features/options do not seem to work correctly. Often the Teleset is blamed for incorrect or missing key
