WATCHING A VIDEO TAPE

Loading a Video Tape

Insert the video cassette into the VCR’s com- partment with the label facing up and the tape swivel-cover facing into the compartment. Gen- tly push in the cassette until the VCR automati- cally draws it in.

Caution: Never insert anything except a VHS video cassette into the cassette compartment. You might damage the VCR’s internal mecha- nism.

When you load a tape that still has its record- protection tab (see “Record Protection” on Page 34), the VCR positions the tape next to the record/playback head for about 5 minutes. Within this period, if you start playback, record- ing, rewind, or fast-forward, the VCR responds more quickly.

When you stop the tape during playback, re- wind, or fast-forward, the tape remains posi- tioned next to the record/playback head for about 5 minutes. To protect the tape, the fast- response system releases after about 5 min- utes.

2.If you connected the VCR’s AUDIO/VIDEO OUT jacks to a TV/monitor’s audio/video input jacks, set the TV to the VIDEO mode.
