If you press when SUN appears on
the display, the display shows one day
before today’s date. For example, if
today’s date is 1/24, the display shows
1/23 in the following year.
You can also use the number buttons on
the remote control to enter the date. For
example, press 0, 5, 1, and 8 to set May
18th.

10. Press . The display shows the same time
selected in Step 9. Use or to set the
desired stop time.
11. Press or to highlight the tape speed.
12. Press or to set the tape speed.
13. Double-check all the set information.
If it is correct, press SET.
If an entry is not correct, repeatedly
press or to highlight the incorrect
entry, use or or t he num ber k eys to
enter the correct information, then press
SET.
If you want to exit without storing the
timer settings, press CANCEL.
14. Press MENU again. TURN VCR POWER
OFF FOR TIMER RECORDING bri efly
appears on the TV screen.
15. Press POWER to turn off the VCR’s power.
TIMER appears on the VCR’s display.
At the selected start date and time, the VCR
automatically turns on, records the broadcast
on the selected channel, stops recording at the
selected stop time, then turns off.
Note: The VCR makes the timer recording
even if the TV is off.
Important:
You can turn on and operate the VCR man-
ually prior to the set times, but the VCR
makes automatic timer recording(s) only if
the power is off at the set start time(s).
Be sure that TIMER appears steadily on
the VCR’s display when you turn off the
VCR. If it does not, check your program-
ming.
If you set up the VCR to record a cable
program through a cable box, be sure to
leave the cable box turned on before the
timer program starts.
