Jam Bread Machine Stages

For the Jam cycle you can expect the following things to happen as the timer counts down to zero.

To begin: The ingredients are kneaded for the first time (15 minutes)

At 0:50, the dough begins to bake (50 minutes)

At 0:00, the Jam is finished.

Strawberry Jam (no Delay Timer)

 

Jam

1 cup sugar

1–1/2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

1 tablespoon powdered low-sugar fruit pectin

2 teaspoons lemon juice

1Measure all ingredients into bread pan.

2Press and hold down the “Start/Stop” button to clear the display.

3Press the “Menu Select” button to choose the jam setting.

4Press the “Start/Stop” button. The display will begin counting down the time on the Jam setting. When jam is ready, the unit will signal and the display will read “0:00.”

5Using hot pads, remove bread pan. Pour jam into containers; cover. Refrigerate to set. Makes about 3 cups.

Orange Marmalade (no Delay Timer)

 

Jam

3 large oranges

1–1/4 cups sugar

2 tablespoons powdered low-sugar fruit pectin

1 lemon

1With a vegetable peeler, shave off the bright layer of peel from one orange and the lemon; chop finely.

2Remove and discard remaining white peel from orange and lemon.

3Peel remaining oranges, and discard peels. Slice fruit into 1/2-inch pieces.

4Combine chopped peels, fruit, sugar and pectin in bread pan.

5Press and hold down the “Start/Stop” button to clear the display.

6Press the “Menu Select” button to choose the jam setting.

7Press the “Start/Stop” button. The display will begin counting down the time on the Jam setting. When jam is ready, the unit will signal and the display will read “0:00.”

8Using hot pads, remove bread pan. Pour jam into containers; cover. Refrigerate to set. Makes about 3 cups.

Frozen Berry Jam (no Delay Timer)

1–3/4 cups sugar

1 package (10 to 12 oz) frozen berries (strawberries and raspberries are ideal)

1Measure all ingredients into bread pan.

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2Press and hold down the “Start/Stop” button to clear the display.

3Press the “Menu Select” button to choose the jam setting.

4Press the “Start/Stop” button. The display will begin counting down the time on the Jam setting. When jam is ready, the unit will signal and the display will read “0:00.”
