Convenient functions

VHS

 

 

QUICK ERASE

You can delete a cassette contents all at once.

[1]Insert a cassette that you want to delete the cassette’s contents.

[2]While stopped

Press [FUNCTIONS].

[3]Press [3, 4] to select “QUICK ERASE”, and press [ENTER].

VHS FUNCTIONS

RETURN : return

[4]Press [ENTER] for 5 seconds or more to start

the QUICK ERASE function.

QUICK ERASE function takes

approximately 30 minutes.

ENTER : press for 5 seconds

 

(with E-180 cassette)

STOP : cancel

To stop in the middle

Press [, STOP].

The tape is rewound to the beginning, and it is fast-forwarded with erasing the tape.

When the tape reaches the end, the unit automatically rewinds it to the beginning.

Note

When a video cassette without the accidental erasure prevention tab is inserted, this function is not activated.

Various indications in on-screen display

To see these displays, set the “OSD” item in the VHS FUNCTIONS to “4:3” or “WIDE” (l 54).

Press [STATUS].

The following screen appears.

The Left (L) and Right (R) indicators show which sound mode

 

is selected as follows:

L R (Stereo):

Both the L and R indicators appear.

 

L –:

The L indicator appears.

 

– R:

The R indicator appears.

 

– – (Normal):

Neither the L nor R indicator appears.

Recording mode

 

 

 

 

Tape running display

 

Pressing [STATUS] once makes the on-screen display

 

appears. After that, press the button repeatedly to change

 

the display as follows:

 

Current time>Operation status and Tape counter

 

^------------ Remaining tape time ,------------}

 

During Index search: “01” to “20” is displayed. (l 54)

During Jet Rewind: “6 JET REW” is displayed. (l 49)

 

Press [¢, RESET] to reset the tape counter (elapsed time)

 

to “0:00.00”.

 

 

The tape counter is automatically reset to “0:00.00” when

 

inserting a video cassette.

 

The remaining time is approximate. It will be incorrect if you

 

set the wrong tape time in the “Tape length” item in the VHS

 

FUNCTIONS menu and if the tape is of poor quality.

 

 

 

Note

These displays do not appear during special playback.

The on-screen display may be distorted depending on the playback tape or the input signal.

Press [AUDIO] to select the audio type.

The audio changes as follows:

L R (Stereo) > L – > – R > – – (Normal audio track)
