8.5Transferring recorded messages to another telephone

This feature allows your unit to call a designated telephone number each time a caller leaves a message. You can then listen to the transferred message via remote operation.

Important:

LTo use this feature, program the transfer telephone number first (feature #60, page

50)and set the unit to TAD/FAX mode.

LYou must turn ON the voice guidance feature (feature #47, page 49) or record your own transfer greeting message beforehand.

8.5.1 How this feature works

1An incoming voice message is recorded in your unit while you are out.

2Your unit calls the transfer telephone number.

3You answer the call at the transfer telephone.

4Your unit will play the pre-recorded transfer greeting message.

L If you recorded your own transfer greeting message, it will be played instead.

5You enter the remote operation ID, and retrieve the message using remote operation (page 43).

8.5.2Recording your transfer greeting message

The recording time is limited to 16 seconds.

Sample message: “This is a transferred message from (your name, business and/or telephone number). Please enter your remote ID for remote operation.”

1Press {MENU}.

2Press {#}, then {6}{1}.

3Press {SET}.

4Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to select “RECORD”.

5Press {SET}.

6Speak clearly about 20 cm away from {MIC}. L The display will show the remaining

recording time.

7To stop recording, press {STOP}.

LThe unit will repeat your message.

8Press {MENU}.

To check the transfer greeting message

1.Press {MENU}, {#}{6}{1}, then {SET}.

2.Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to select “CHECK”.

3.Press {SET}.

LThe unit will play the message.

4.Press {MENU}.

To erase your transfer greeting message

1.Press {MENU}, {#}{6}{1}, then {SET}.

2.Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to select “ERASE”.

3.Press {SET}.

4.Press {MENU}.

Note:

LWhen transferring a message, the pre- recorded transfer greeting message will be played.

LIf the voice guidance feature is turned OFF (feature #47, page 49) and you have erased your own transfer greeting message, the message transfer feature will be cancelled.
