Quick start

English

Recording and playback are the basic functions of your DVD Recorder. In this chapter the elementary operations for recording or playing a disc are presented separately for quick reference purposes.

Detailed information on different modes, settings and features can be found in the chapter ‘Operation’.

Switching on

Switch on the TV and select the TV’s Video In channel (see operation manual for your TV).

Press B STANDBY/ON to turn on the Recorder. The initial setup will appear the very first time you turn on the Recorder. See initial setup.

Make sure the clock is set. See ‘Installation - time/date adjustment.’

Checking input

Normally, the DVD Recorder displays the contents of the current disc on the screen. However, if you want to view TV channels, press the TUNER button so that TV programming appears on the TV.

Make sure your TV is on the correct Video In channel. Press TUNER again to return to disc viewing only at the Recorder.

Recording with automatic switch-off (OTR One-Touch Recording)

1Insert a recordable DVD+RW disc.

2Press TUNER to see TV channels through the DVD Recorder.

3Use CHANNEL 3 or CHANNEL 4 (on the Recorder) or P+, P- or the digit buttons 0-9(on the remote control) to select the channel you wish to record.

4Press RECORD twice.

The end time of the recording shows in the timer box on the TV screen. The remaining recording time shows in the status box on the TV screen and on the display.

Recording

1Press / OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc tray.

2 Insert a recordable DVD+RW disc. Press / OPEN/CLOSE to close the disc tray.

3 Press TUNER to see TV channels through the DVD Recorder.

4 Press CHANNEL 3 or CHANNEL 4 (on the Recorder) or P+, P- or the digit buttons 0-9(on the remote control) to select the channel you wish to record.

5 Press RECORD.

RECORD’ shows on the display.

6Press 9 STOP to stop recording. RECORD’ flashes on the display.

10:15pm

5Press RECORD repeatedly to set up long recordings in 30 minutes increments, up to four hours.

6Or, press the 9 STOP button to stop recording.
