Adjusting initial settings

Usingthe initial settings, you can customize
varioussystem settings to achieve optimal per-
formancefrom this unit.

1Functiondisplay
Showsthe function names.
1 Touchthe source icon and then touch
OFFto turn this unit off.
#Whenthe source icon is not displayed, you
candisplay it by touching the screen.
2 PressA.MENU button and touch INIT to
displaythe initial function names.
Thefunction names are displayed and oper-
ableones are highlighted.
#Togo to the next group of function names,
touchNEXT.
#Toreturn to the previous group of function
names,touch PREV.
#Whenthe multi-channel processor (e.g., DEQ-
P7650)is connected to this unit, you can operate
D.ATT and RESET instead of REARSP.
#Toreturn to the previous display, touch BACK.
#Toreturn to the display of each source, touch
ESC.

Setting the FM tuning step

TheFM tuning step employed by seek tuning
canbe switched between 100 kHz, the preset
step,and 50 kHz.
%TouchFMSTEP on the initial menu to se-
lectthe FM tuning step.
TouchingFMSTEP will switch the FM tuning
stepbetween 50 kHz and 100 kHz while AF or
TAis on. The selected FM tuning step will ap-
pearin the display.
Note
Ifseek tuning is performed in 50 kHz steps,sta-
tionsmay be tuned in imprecisely. Tune in the sta-
tionswith manual tuning or use seek tuning
again.

Setting the AM tuning step

TheAM tuning step can be switched between
9kHz, the preset step, and 10 kHz. When
usingthe tuner in North, Central or South
America,reset the tuning step from 9 kHz (531
kHzto 1 602 kHz allowable) to 10 kHz (530 kHz
to1 640 kHzallowable).
%TouchAMSTEP on the initial menu to
selectthe AM tuning step.
TouchingAMSTEP will switch the AM tuning
stepbetween 9 kHz and 10 kHz. The selected
AMtuning step will appear in the display.

Switching the warning tone

Ifthe front panel is not detached from the
headunit within five seconds of turning off the
ignition,a warning tone will sound. Youcan
turnoff the warning tone.
