Scanning tracks of a CD
Scanplay lets you hear the first 10 seconds of
eachtrack on the CD.
Whenplaying the compressed audio disc, the
first10 seconds of each track of thecurrent
folder(or the first track of each folder)is
played.
!Thisfunction is available for CD and com-
pressedaudio disc.
1 Selectthe repeat range.
Referto Repeating play on the previous page.
2 TouchSCAN on the function menu to
turnscan play on.
Thefirst 10 seconds of each track is played.
3 Whenyou find the desired track (or
folder)touch SCAN again.
Note
Aftertrack or folder scanning is finished,normal
playbackof the tracks will begin again.
Selecting audio output
Youcan switch between stereo and monaural
audiooutput.
!Thisfunction is available for DVD and
VideoCD.
!Thisfunction is not possible when disc
playbackhas been stopped.
1 PressA.MENU button to display MENU.
2 TouchFUNCTION to display the func-
tionnames.
3 TouchL/R SELECT to select the audio
output.

Note
Dependingon the disc and the playback location
onthe disc, the function may not be selectable,
indicatingthat operating this function is not pos-
sible.
Resume playback (Bookmark)
TheBookmark function lets you resume play-
backfrom a selected scene the next time the
discis loaded.
!Thisfunction is available for DVD.
%Duringplayback, press
BOOKMARK(BM) button at the point you
wantto resume playback next time.
Theselected scene will be bookmarked so that
playbackresumes from that point next time.
Youcan bookmark up to five discs. After that,
theoldest bookmark is replaced by the new
one.
#Toclear the bookmark on a disc, press and
holdBOOKMARK (BM) button during playback.
#Youcan also bookmark a disc by pressing and
holdingEJECT at the point you want to bookmark.
Nexttime you load the disc, playback will resume
fromthe bookmarked point. Note that you can
onlybookmark one disc using this method. To
clearthe bookmark on a disc, press EJECT.
Entering disc titles
Youcan input CD titles and display the title.
Thenext time you insert a CD for whichyou
haveentered a title, the title of that CD will be
displayed.
Usethe disc title input feature to store up to
48CD titles in the unit. Each title can be upto
10characters long.
!Thisfunction is available for CD.
!Whenplaying a CD TEXT disc, you cannot
switchto T. EDIT. The disc title will have al-
readybeen recorded on a CD TEXT disc.
