Installing the Memory Unit Type505 (DIMM)
RCAUTION:
•Make sure to turn off the printer and wait for about 30 minutes before installing options. Not waiting for the printer to cool down can result in a burn.
Important
❒The memory unit can be damaged by small amounts of static electric- ity. Before touching it, touch some- thing metal to discharge static electricity from you.
ATurn off the printer's power switch and remove all cables and cords from the printer.
BRemove screws and remove the back plate.

❒A coin can be used to remove the screws.
COpen the white tabs, which hold the memory, to their widest posi- tion (A). Insert the memory unit horizontally into the slot (B).

Note
❒There are two notches on the side with the connector of the memory unit. They are located on the left and in the center. Be sure to align the notches over the guides correctly, as shown in the illustration.

DAttach the back plate to its origi- nal position, and fasten it with screws that were removed in step
