Loading Paper

Loading Paper in the Paper Tray

Use the following procedure to load paper in the paper tray and optional tray. See P.27 “Loading Paper in the By- pass Tray” for details on the bypass tray.

Important

After you load paper, you must set the paper size dial to match the ac- tual paper size loaded in the tray. Otherwise, the printer might be damaged.

ACarefully pull the paper tray out of the printer and place it on a flat surface.

BSlide the paper guides to posi- tions that match the size of paper you want to load.

Adjust the paper guides until they click into position.

Important

Do not touch the friction pad

(A). Otherwise, paper misfeeds or paper multi-feeds might oc- cur .

CLoad paper into the tray with the print side up.

Important

Make sure that the stack of pa- per is no higher than the limit mark (TT) inside the tray.

Make sure the paper fits under the back paper guide.
