Engine Oil

This engine is filled with synthetic oil (API SJ/CF 5W-30). This allows from system operation in the widest range of temperature and climate conditions.

We recommend the use of Briggs & Stratton Warranty Certified oils for best performance. Other high-quality detergent oils are acceptable if classified for service SF, SG, SH, SJ or higher. DO NOT use special additives.

WHEN ADJUSTING OF MAKING REPAIRS TO YOUR GENERATOR

t Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and place the wire where it cannot contact spark plug.

WHEN TESTING FOR ENGINE SPARK

t Use approved spark plug tester.

t DO NOT check for spark with spark plug removed.

Checking/Adding Engine Oil

1.Gain access to the dipstick on the engine.

2.Clean the oil fill area of any debris.

3.Remove the dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth.

4.Fully insert dipstick into oil fill.

5.Remove dipstick and check oil level. Verify oil is a FULL mark (top hole) on dipstick.

6.If needed, slowly pour recommended oil into oil fill opening. DO NOT overfill. After adding oil, wait one minute and recheck oil level.
