Structuring the SDC 8000 system
Using external equipment
External audio signals can be fed to the conference and interpretation system and channels (floor channel and interpretation channels) can be output.
You can, for example,
y connect a wireless microphone, enabling a speaker to move around freely and to speak from anywhere in the room,
y feed external audio signals (e.g. the soundtrack of a video, music, announcements from a tape, etc.) into the system,
yconnect a PA system,
yconnect an infrared language distribution system,
ydirectly transmit channels to broadcasting and TV stations,
yand record individual channels for documentation or archiving purposes.
Note!
Please note that a total of two audio sources can be connected to the central unit and that a total of three channels plus the floor channel can be output. If you wish to output more channels, you require the optional SDC 8000 AO analog output unit.
Connecting external audio sources
Via the two
External audio sources are, for example:
ywired microphones
ywireless microphones
ythe audio output of a video recorder
ya CD player
The signals available at the audio inputs AUX IN 1 and AUX IN 2 are fed to the floor channel which is output via the consoles’
y“Turning the audio inputs or outputs on and off” on page 95,
y“Adjusting the input level of an audio input” on page 96 and
y“Adjusting the input sensitivity of an audio input” on page 96.
Transmitting the floor channel and the interpretation channels to broadcasting and TV stations
Important conferences and specialist congresses are of great interest to the public. The SDC 8000 conference and interpretation system, therefore, allows you to transmit the floor channel and the interpretation channels e.g. to broadcasting and TV stations.
