Setting up the SDC 8000 system
This chapter provides information on how to set up and operate the
SDC8 000 conference and interpretation s ystem.

Preparing the SDC 8000 system components for set up

Conference and interpreter consoles
After unpacking the consoles, you sim ply have to connect them to the
central unit and initialize them.
Central unit
Connect the mains cable to socket .
Connect the mains cable to the mains (100 – 240 V, 50 – 60 Hz).
Fixing the central uni t feet
To ensure that the cell transmitter cannot slip on t he surface on which it is
placed, four self-adhesiv e soft feet are suppli ed.
Note:
Do not use these feet if rack-mounting the cell transmitter.
Ensure that the base of the central unit is clean and free from grease
before mounting the feet.
Fix the feet to the ba se of the central unit by pee ling off the safety
paper and fitting them as shown in the diagram on the left.
Attention!
Some furniture surfac es have been treated with varnish, pol ish or
synthetics which might become stained wh en they come into contact
with other synthetics. Despite a thorough testing of the synthetics
used by us, we cannot rule out the possibility of staining, since we don’t
know your furniture.
Rack-mounting several c entral units
For larger conference and interpretation systems with several central
units, we recommend mounting the central units into a rack.
Mount the cen tral unit in to a 19" rack a nd fix it to th e rack by me ans of
four screws.
