To install your M55 as a modem:

1Download the GPRS modem assistant

software from the CD supplied with

your phone.

2Connect your M55 to your laptop via a

data cable.

3Select the modem software, and then

select data cable as your method of

connection.

4Select an automatic or manual

connection, and then install the modem

assistant software.

5Once the software is installed, the

Siemens icon will appear on your

display.

6A phone connection wizard will appear

on your display. Work through the

wizard, which will require you to enter a

name for your phone.

To activate your data and fax modem,

double-click the Siemens icon, enter your

location and ‘Orange UK’ as your service

provider, and then select Connect.

To end your connection, double-click the

Siemens icon and select Yes.

Your Orange phone allows you to work while

on the move as effectively as if you were in

the office.

Your Orange phone automatically has the

ability to send fax and data calls, but you will

have to set up both receiving numbers by

calling Business Customer Services on 158.

Fill in your incoming Fax number and

incoming Data number in the boxes below.

Before you can install your M55 as a modem

you must first choose how you wish to

transfer data. Choose from the following:

■OrangeFax and Data

Your phone is automatically configured to

use a GSM connection. You do not need

to make a subscription to use this

connection.

■Orange GPRS

Orange GPRS allows you to be

permanently online whilst only being

charged for any data transfer activity,

such as emails, web pages or files. You

can also make and receive voice calls

whilst using GPRS.

Orange Assistant

If you'd like an operator to personally manage

your phone messages, Orange Assistantis the

answer. A reliable, highly efficient service that

can handle calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a

week, Orange Assistantwill take a message

accurately and immediately forward it on to

your Orange phone as a text message.

There is no charge for the Call Divert to

Orange Assistant or for direct calls to Orange

Assistant. You only pay for the messages that

you receive.

You can either pay per message or pay a

monthly subscription for an unlimited number

of messages.

Contact your company’s Orange account

holder or call 158to set up Orange Assistant.

You will be charged your standard rate.

Note:Orange Assistant cannot be used while

you are abroad.
