3.6.2.1.Obtaining a PING from the Modem
This step assumes the modem is registered on the CDPD network. (AT is omitted for brevity):

At this point the modem should be functioning on the network and responding to PINGs. The modem is now ready for configuration and installation as described in the sections on Configuration and Use.
