SKIPPED STITCHES AND THREAD BREAKAGES OCCUR
Needle tip is broken.
Replace needle.
Needle is bent.
Replace needle.
Needle is not installed correctly.
Install the needle correctly. Refer to pages 30 - 31.
Upper thread tension is too tight.
Adjust the thread tension.
Refer to pages 32 - 33.
To check the elasticity of the thread, hold a length of thread of about 6 inches at both ends and pull it, check the length at which it breaks. If using a
Thread path is incorrect.

Thread is tangled around spool holder.
Refer to pages 24 - 25.
Thread scraps or material scraps have collected under the needle plate.
Remove the scraps. Refer to pages 94 - 95.
A thin needle is being used for heavy material.
Replace with a thicker needle.
Normally a #14 needle should be used.
