The Uniden Data 2000 is powered by 4 AAA size alkaline batteries that, depending upon your application, should provide you with several days of use. Here is a matrix below that will give you an idea of the expected battery life in relation to the modem’s anticipated use:

The above matrix is only an estimate. Your actual battery life will vary based on your use of the modem and other parameters. Whenever you are in a more stationary situation, Uniden recommends that you use the AC power adapter (wall unit) that comes with your Uniden Data 2000.
To ensure maximum battery life, Uniden recommends that you turn the modem power switch off when not in use.
