Updating other Profiles
You can also update a profile which is not in use. This will have no effec t on the existi ng Wi-Fi
connection from your comput er to the Mi Fi 2200.
Change the Selected Profile to t he Profile you wish to change.
Wait for the scree n to update with the Wi-Fi set tings for the sele cted profil e.
Change the settings as desire d. Note that for the “Temporar y Hotspot” profile,
these setti ngs cannot be changed directl y. For this Profile, you can only clic k
Generate” to gene rate new values for the network name (SSID) and security key.
Click the “Up date” button to save your changes. Alt ernativel y, click the “App ly
button to both update this profil e and start using it (make it the current profi le).
Wi-Fi Settings
Each Wi-Fi Profile contains the following setti ngs. For the “Temporary Hotspot” profil e, these
settings cannot be changed dire ctly.
- Network Name (SSID) - The Network Name (also called SSID) of the Sele cted
Profile. Note that each profile must have a differ ent networ k name to avoid
confusing wirele ss clients.
- 802.11 Mode - Select the desi red mode.
- Channel – Select the desired channel . If available, the “Auto” set ting is
recommended. Wit h this setting, the be st available channel wil l be
automatically sele cted. If the “Aut o” setting is not available , you can
experime nt to see which channel provides the best re sults, but normally the
default value will be fine.
- Security - For the "Secure" profile, sele ct the desir ed security me thod. Use the
most secure method supporte d by your wirele ss clients. The options are list ed
in order, from least secur e to most secure .

WEP 128-bit
WPA Personal/PSK (TKIP)
WPA2 Personal/P SK (AES)
- Network Key - Enter the ne twork key. The requir ements for the network key
depend upon the Securit y option chosen.
WEP 64-bit - 5 ASCII characters or 10 HEX characters.
WEP 128-bit - 13 ASCII characte rs or 26 HEX characters.
WPA Personal/PSK (TKIP) - ASCII stri ng, 8 to 63 character s in length.
WPA2 Personal/P SK (AES) - ASCII string, 8 to 63 characters in le ngth.
