Just as in CTCSS operation, DCS requires that you set the Tone Mode to DCS and that you select a tone code.
1.Press the [F] key, then press the [1(SQ TYP)] key to enable selection of the CTCSS/ DCS/ECS mode.
2. Rotate the DIAL knob until the “DCS” indication appears on the display; this activates the DCS Encoder/Decoder.
3.Press the PTT switch to save the new setting.
4.Press the [F] key, then press the [2(CODE)] key to enable adjustment of the DCS code.
5.Rotate the DIAL knob to select the desired DCS Code (a
repeater owner/operator if you don’t know DCS Code; if you
are working sim- plex, just set up the DCS Code to be
the same as that used by your friend(s).
6. When you have made your selection, press the [F] key momentarily to save the new settings and exit to normal operation.
